Young Leaders Award
Young people have the power to change the world. Our Year 2 children complete the Young Leaders Award: a leadership and character education programme.
The Young Leaders Award has strong links to SMSC, British Values, PSHE, Character Education, Citizenship and RE.
The children really enjoy completing this and making a real difference to their community.
For the 'Kindness' unit the children learnt how it felt to experience kindness and to be kind to others. The children left secret kindness post it notes to each other and members of staff.
As part of our community action project the children sewn welcome bags for the Ukrainian families living in our community. This was not easy and took a lot of perseverance!
The learning take place alongside our design and technology unit of learning.
The children worked together as a class team to build a bug hotel for our Forest School Area. It was an amazing achievement!
The children showed some great teamwork!
For their community project the children collected items for the welcome bags they made to be distributed to the Ukrainian children in our community. In English, the children wrote persuasive letters for the school newsletter asking for donations and we are currently collecting ready for distribution!
